In
order to send and receive email, you will need an
email program. There is an email program built into
Netscape Navigator (comes free of charge) and
Microsoft offers Microsoft Outlook Express (which is
also free). Another popular email program is Eudora
(they, too, offer a free version of the product).
Your email program will perform two basic operations:
To check email your email program will need the
following pieces of information:
Your mail box user
name
Your mail box
password
Incoming mail server
(also known as POP3). The address of this server
is: mail.yourdomainname
To send email your email program will need the
following pieces of information:
Your Name
Your Return Address
Outgoing mail server
(also known as SMTP). The address of this server
is: mail.yourdomainname
Important note:
If you will be using mail.yourdomainname as
your outgoing email server, you will first need to
check email before sending. This is a security measure
implemented by Link2CITY.com to better protect your
email flow.
